Unbound Science, a decentralized science (DeSci) initiative founded by Aaron Malone, has announced a strategic partnership with Secret Network, the leading privacy-focused blockchain. Together, the two organizations aim to redefine how new technology innovations get funded, reviewed, and distributed by building a creator economy on top of various web3 rails that value privacy above all.

Unbound Science is a new economy for inventors to store their life’s work, including blueprints, instruction manuals, how-to videos, and experiment notes. Additional features include decentralized peer review, collaboration whiteboards, and connections to third-party marketplaces to license or lease their technology to major technology manufacturers. The global community is able to fund direct solutions to problems they care about through the subject-specific donation pools and tech bounties.

Through this collaboration, Unbound Science will leverage Secret Network’s suite of privacy tools, including encrypted smart contracts, privacy-preserving stable coins, private on-chain voting, and soulbound NFTs for identity verification. SecretVM will host Unbound’s infrastructure, offering encrypted file storage, computation, and permissioned access for inventors and reviewers.

The Unbound Science platform is currently in alpha, with participation open to members of the Secret Network’s Secret Agent community. Early contributors are invited to test platform features, offer feedback, and receive UNITE tokens as incentives for using the platform. UNITE tokens are distributed for user interactions and participation, much in a similar vein as DYDX or COMP tokens were originally distributed.

Both organizations share a commitment to a more open, equitable, and secure digital future. By combining Unbound’s vision for decentralized science with Secret Network’s proven expertise in privacy infrastructure, the partnership sets out to deliver a modern, web3-powered foundation for scientific progress.

Unbound Science is granting a tranche of UNITE tokens to the Secret Foundation to further support their mission of privacy and security on blockchain and cloud computing. In kind, Secret Foundation has granted a tranche of SCRT tokens to the developers of Unbound Science, Obsanity Labs. The Secret Foundation was the very first supporters of this mission when it began at the ETH Denver 2023 hackathon and these initial grants were instrumental in getting this project off the ground.

UNITE tokens are now trading live at coinmetro.com. As the UNITE token is a true utility token related to science, and is not a speculative asset or financial instrument, there is no reason it should be subjected to the whims and market manipulation forces that control Bitcoin.
