We’re excited to announce a partnership with Native, which will bring decentralized confidential computing to Bitcoin. Through this partnership, Native will provide secure and programmable Bitcoin to Secret, and Secret will integrate its Confidential Computing Layer with Native. This will unlock exciting new capabilities for both networks.

What Native Unlocks for Secret

On Secret, DeFi applications will gain access to a secure new source of Bitcoin over IBC, via Native. Native is the Bitcoin platform built on zero trust architecture, that leverages advanced 2PC-MPC cryptography – a noncollusive MPC network that enables access and control of Native Bitcoin, without the need for bridging or wrapping. Native enables the development of next generation zero trust dApps, while ensuring users maintain complete control of their assets.

What Secret Unlocks for Native

On Native, applications will gain access to decentralized confidential computing via Secret’s Confidential Computing Layer. Native is a layer 1 blockchain built with Cosmos SDK. Its dApp layer will have native access to Bitcoin, enabling things like Bitcoin DAOs and Bitcoin-powered DeFi applications. By incorporating DeCC into Native dApps, developers will be able to utilize features such as private voting for DAOs, encrypted order books for DeFi applications, encrypted storage for various applications, secure random number generation for games, confidential data linked to NFTs, and sealed-bid auctions for NFTs and other assets.

Secret x Native

This partnership represents a significant milestone in advancing privacy-preserving applications for Bitcoin.

Lisa Loud, Executive Director of the Secret Network Foundation, said: “By partnering with Native, we are poised to redefine security and privacy for Bitcoin DeFi. Applications on Secret Network will be able to access Bitcoin in a secure and privacy-preserving manner. At the same time, applications on Native will gain access to decentralized confidential computing, unlocking exciting new capabilities.”

Robert, Co-Founder of Native, shared his thoughts on the partnership, stating: “This collaboration with Secret Network is not just a technical integration; it represents a shared vision for a more secure and private decentralized world. Our combined technologies will set a new standard for privacy and security in DeFi, offering developers the tools they need to innovate without compromising on privacy.”

What’s Next?

Native is currently in development, with a target mainnet launch of Q1 2025. You can join their community on Discord or Telegram, and get updates on their progress by following them on X. Secret Network will also provide updates on this integration as it gets closer. We look forward to seeing some powerful Native x Secret applications built!
